Pray for Families (The gift of prayer)

Greetings Prayer Warriors,

When life makes you weary, and you feel spent, it is much harder to be self-less with your family.  Take time for renewal, even if for only ten minutes,  be still, and trust in Him.

"I myself," the LORD answered, "will go along, to give you rest."
Exodus 33:14

When you are too tired to give of yourself, be generous with your prayer.  Pray for your family and for all families.

Peace, Joy, and Love,
Janet

Pray always.  Pray for others.  Pass it on.

Pray for Marriages (Overcoming Adversity)

Greetings Prayer Warriors

Adversity is often the first stepping-stone on the path to finding God.  Through adversity, our relationship with God strengthens and our burden lightens because we realize we no longer walk alone.

I stretch out my hands toward you, my soul to you like a parched land. Hasten to answer me, LORD; for my spirit fails me.  Do not hide your face from me, lest I become like those descending to the pit.  In the morning let me hear of your mercy, for in you I trust. Show me the path I should walk, for I entrust my life to you. Psalm 143:6-8

Pray for all marriages facing adversity, that they find Jesus along the path, and are comforted and strengthened and renewed in hope through Him.

Peace, Joy, and Love,
Janet

Help a friend overcome adversity.  Pray for them.  Then pass this on.

Pray for Families (Adaptability to Change)

Greetings Prayer Warriors,

A-D-A-P-T-A-B-I-L-I-T-Y.   Although this has been my personal call to action in my professional life this month, I believe it is a constant necessity in family life.  While we expect others to adapt to our moodiness and variable temperament, while at the same time not love us any less, it is much harder when the shoe is on the other foot.  When changes in our family’s finances, life circumstances, or relationships bring us way out of our comfort zone, we are once again called to adapt . When we feel our humanness resisting and revolting against such change, there is only one thing we should do…

Be still and know that I am God!   Psalm 46:10

He will lead us to peace.

Let us pray for families, that each member will have the courage to be still and trust in Him.   Let us pray for a large portion of love, so that we can more easily adapt to whatever changes the Lord calls us to.  Heavenly Father, increase our faith so that we will always trust in your ways.  And when we don’t have the energy to take another step, carry us Lord!

Peace, Joy, and Love,
Janet

Pray for one another.  Pass it on!

Pray for Marriages (Finding Him in the silence)

Greetings Prayer Warriors,

Have you ever been frustrated in prayer, feeling like you are doing all the talking, crying, or pleading and all you hear is silence?  I would venture to guess that most of you would answer, “yes”.  We all long to hear Godly locutions, but that isn’t how the Lord usually talks to us.  He is much more subtle.

I was contemplating the silence (what appeared to be non-response) when my soul seemed to hear.

I am in the silence.  I endured my Passion in silence; stay with me.
When you feel alone or deserted, be with me in the Garden of Gethsemane.

Do you feel unloved and the disdain of others?  Be with me at my scourging.

Are you a victim of negativity and verbal barbs? Have you suffered humiliation and abuse? Be with me as I am crowned with thorns.

Do you feel the weight of the world upon your shoulders?  Are you being crushed financially, physically, emotionally, or spiritually?  Unite with me and we will carry that cross together.

Are you willing to stay with me in the silence and surrender everything to the will of my Father?  Then stand at the foot of the cross and console me.  Look at the cross and you will see and know Love.

Bring your troubles to me.  I am bearing them with you in the silence.

So I ask you not to lose heart over my afflictions for you; this is your glory.  For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that he may grant you in accord with the riches of his glory to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in the inner self, and that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the holy ones what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, so that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.  Eph 3: 13-19

Today and all week long, pray for marriages that are crushed by their burdens, tortured by their behaviors, and pierced by unkind words, for they have lost their love.  May they find true Love at the foot of the cross.

Peace, Joy, and Love,
Janet

Share the Love.  Pass it on.

Pray for Families (Purity)

Greetings Prayer Warriors,

Purity.   It is something that God wills for us and society used to value.  But the evil one is waging a battle to corrupt us through our eyes, our ears, and our hearts.  All forms of media bombard us with pictures, words, and sensuality that steal our purity.

I do not ask that you take them out of the world but that you keep them from the evil one. John 17:15

Lord, we come before you and lift up all families in prayer.  We first beg you for the protection of children, that their eyes do not see, there ears do not hear, and their minds do not retain anything that attacks their innocence and purity.  For our teens, may they be strengthened so that they walk away from temptation and separate themselves from all that is perverse in their midst.  For adults, may all have the fortitude to turn from evil thoughts and desires, grow in purity, lead by example, protect our youth, and pray in earnest.   Lord save us from ourselves!

Do everything without grumbling or questioning, that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine like lights in the world.
Phillipians 2:14-15

Peace, Joy, and Love,
Janet

Keep the prayers coming!  Pass it on!
