I hope the recent holiday weekend was one of renewal, love, and thanksgiving.
As I was reading the gospel of Matthew this week, I was struck my the following:
From the fullness of the heart the mouth speaks. A good person brings forth good out of a store of goodness, but an evil person brings forth evil out of a store of evil. Matthew 12:34-35
What are we doing to make sure we are creating a storehouse of goodness within ourselves? What would your spouse, or family and friends say your storehouse is filled with? Does stress affect which silo your words come from?
I tell you, on the day of judgment people will render an account for every careless word they speak. Matthew 12:36
Advent is a perfect time to fill your heart with goodness. Spend more time in prayer. Make an advent commitment to only speak out of a heart filled with love. Pray for marriages and start practicing your love-speak with your spouse. Then pass it on.
