Everyone craves a positive family dynamic, like the ones seen in the family sitcoms of old. Instead most families mirror the family sitcoms of today, filled with chaos and dysfunction. However, it’s only amusing when we’re watching a fictional TV family. We ourselves long for togetherness and unity but we find ourselves immersed in busyness. Chronic busyness leads to impatience, which leads to short-temperedness, which just about kills familial communication. And once family members stop talking to each other, it just leads back to busyness.
When you feel yourself consumed by busyness, stop and carve out 10 minutes of time for yourself. Feel God’s love for you. God doesn’t just love us, He is love. Allow Him to be present in your life. Feel His peace in your stillness. Bring that newly found peace and love back into the family and see what changes.
We have come to know and to believe in the love God has for us. God is love, and whoever remains in love remains in God and God in him. 1John 4:16
Pray to be the family that Love built.
Peace, Joy, and Love,
Janet
