Lent is less than one week away. What a perfect time to self-reflect on how you might walk with Christ from his passion to his glorious resurrection! What a great discussion topic to share with family this weekend. What is cluttering your life and keeping you from the Lord? TV? Electronics? Shopping? Unnecessary busyness? Un-nutritious books and magazines? Trash radio? While fasting from food is always good, perhaps better for some of us is a fast from the clutter. How might hearts change if you took 30 minutes of “clutter time” and spent it in prayer or reading scripture?
Yet even now," says the LORD, "return to me with all your heart, with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning; and rend your hearts and not your garments." Return to the LORD, your God, for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love, and repents of evil. Joel 2:12-13
The Lord calls us to a deeper relationship with him. “Return to me with all your heart!” He longs for us to spend time with Him. Make an individual and family commitment to grow together in Christ. March forth with an open heart.
Peace, Joy, and Love,
Janet
