In a society that highly prizes independence, it is no wonder that we have such a hard time becoming dependent on the Lord. How difficult even the thought of total surrender is!
This morning, as I reflect on Christ’s perfect sacrifice, I am struck by His perfect gift of Infinite Love. His complete surrender to the will of the Father. His pure self-giving as the sacrificial lamb. He poured Himself out that we might be cleansed and brought back to life. What a Model for all of humanity! If we now would only open our hearts to the Spirit of Truth. With His arms outstretched, He is asking us to approach the God of Love and Unfathomable Mercy.
Yet it was our infirmities that he bore, our sufferings that he endured, While we thought of him as stricken, as one smitten by God and afflicted. But he was pierced for our offenses, crushed for our sins, Upon him was the chastisement that makes us whole, by his stripes we were healed. We had all gone astray like sheep, each following his own way; But the LORD laid upon him the guilt of us all. Though he was harshly treated, he submitted and opened not his mouth; Like a lamb led to the slaughter or a sheep before the shearers, he was silent and opened not his mouth. Isaiah 53:4-7
Today, please pray for the conversion of all of humanity. For all of our brothers and sisters in the Body of Christ, our universal family. Pray that no one, regardless of how great their sin, hesitates to ask for His mercy. For He already made the ultimate sacrifice so that we may have new life in Him. You are charged to live! Live in Him and for Him!
