Pray for Marriages (Faith)

Greetings Prayer Warriors!

Faith is often a difficult concept to grasp. In this Internet age of having all types of information and answers at our fingertips, it is ironic how difficult having true faith is. That is because we want clarity and faith asks us to believe in what we can’t see.

John the Baptist was a beautiful example of true faith. Through grace, he accepted the will of God without question. As his faith journey became difficult, he remained steadfast.

I have always wanted to know John’s secret. He could have been quite angry with God and said, “I give my life to you and you reward me with a beheading!?" I think John reveals the secret to his much holier behavior in the following scripture passage.

He must increase; I must decrease. John 3:30

John spent his life emptying his self-will and completely surrendering to God’s will. He discovered that sometimes it is in the deepest darkness that we truly find the Lord. John’s love for Christ was so perfected, that he no longer feared bodily death.

There is no fear in love, but perfect love drives out fear. 1 John 4:18

In marriage, how might one decrease so the Lord can increase? Surrender a difficult aspect of your marriage/your life to the Lord, so that He might increase in you and show you how to love. Then pray for the strengthening of all marriages, especially those in most need.

Peace, Love, and Joy,
Janet

Invite someone to decrease. Pass this on.
