Greetings Prayer Warriors,
This week as a group of spiritual friends gathered, we had a
robust discussion on whether or not it was our role to perform one of the Spiritual
Works of Mercy, to “admonish sinners”.
There was not a consensus, and as you may imagine it brought up of
questions of who, what, when, and why?
Today’s gospel passage gives us some guidance.
How can you say to your brother, ‘Brother, let me remove
that splinter in your eye,’ when you do not even notice the wooden beam in your
own eye? You hypocrite! Remove the wooden beam from your eye first; then you
will see clearly to remove the splinter in your brother’s eye. Luke 6:42
Spend some time contemplating this scripture. Removing a splinter is an act of love, and there are many ways to
show Christ’s love. How might you love a family member more? How did Christ win hearts? Don’t forget to begin with with prayer.
He shall sing before all and say, “I sinned and did wrong,
yet I was not punished accordingly. He
delivered me from passing to the pit, and my life sees light.” See, all these
things God does, two, even three times, for a man, bringing back his soul from
the pit to the light, in the light of the living. Job 33:27-30
Peace, Joy, and Love,
Janet
Love conquers all.
Pass it on.
