Pray for Families (Rising from Depression)

Greetings Prayer Warriors,

On the road of life, the terrain differs widely.  We never really know what to expect on the journey, except the unexpected.  As we travel life’s daily path of mountains and valleys, the highs are spectacular and the low can seem endless.  One might be depressed for hours, days, weeks, or chronically. Almost everyone knows someone in his or her family suffering from depression.

Why are you downcast, my soul; why do you groan within me? Psalm 42:6

Thus, when I stumbled upon this prayer that a friend sent me a while back, I decided it was worth sharing.  Let us pray for family, friends, or self, seeking the Lord’s intervention.

O Christ Jesus, when all is darkness and we feel our weakness and helplessness, give us the sense of Your presence, Your love, and Your strength. Help us to have perfect trust in Your protecting love and strengthening power, so that nothing may frighten or worry us, for living close to You, we shall see Your hand, Your purpose, Your will through all things.
-Prayer Against Depression: St. Ignatius of Loyola

When praying this prayer for someone, ask the Spirit of the Lord to be upon that person, lifting them into His joy.

Fill your servant's heart with joy, Lord, for to you I raise up my heart.  Lord, you are kind and forgiving, rich in faithful love for all who call upon you. Psalm 86:4-5

Peace, Joy, and Love,
Janet

Help someone to experience Joy.  Pass it on!
