Greetings Prayer Warriors,
When visiting hospitalized patients and asking them what
they’d like to pray about, I am struck by their loving reply. It is usually not for themselves, but often a
particular family member. It appears
that our hearts naturally think of those closest to us. We want them to find happiness and at peace
in their lives.
Jesus said to his disciples: “Do not let your hearts be
troubled. You have faith in God; have
faith in me.” John 14:1
Perhaps those with faith worry more about their family
members who don’t have faith. Let us
lessen the worry through prayer, by bringing all those relatives to the foot of
the cross.
Lord, you hear our
innermost groanings before we even utter a sound. You know the depth of our worry and all those
we are unsettled about. Hear our prayers
and petitions on their behalf. Help us
grow in faith knowing that you lovingly are with them, calling to them daily, guiding
and protecting them, and loving them unconditionally. Help us to trust that you
love them even more than we do, and that you too want them to encounter you,
their eternal source of joy, peace, and happiness. Take all those we bring to
you now and immerse them in the ocean of your love and mercy. Immerse us too Lord, as we need constant
assurance. Look kindly upon as we
continue to pray for family. Prepare a
place for us so that we can all be together through eternity.
In my Father’s house, there are many dwelling places. If
there were not, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for
you? And if I go and prepare a place for
you, I will come back again and take you to myself, so that where I am you also
may be.” John 14:2-3
You were ransomed from your futile conduct, handed on by
your ancestors, not with perishable things like silver or gold but the precious
blood of Christ. 1Peter1:18-19
Alleluia!
Peace, Joy, and Love,
Janet
Prayer is more precious than gold, silver or gemstones. Pass it on!
