Pray for Families (Stay at Home)

Greetings Prayer Warriors,

With COVID-19, some states are enacting “Stay at Home” orders.  While this is a huge adjustment to families since parents are now working from home and children are no longer in school, it can actually be a blessing in disguise.  What a great time to reintroduce prayer into the family! Consider  creating family prayer time.

A simple formula to get you started is to remember the acronym “A.C.T.S.”

(A) Adoration – show your love for the Lord by praising Him
(C) Confession - With a humble heart and ask forgiveness for what you
have done and failed to do
(T) Thanksgiving – Thank Him for the family’s blessings and mercy shown
(S) Supplication – Petition the Lord for your family’s intentions

All of you, clothe yourselves with humility in your dealings with one another, for: “God opposes the proud but bestows favor on the humble.” So humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time. Cast all your worries upon him because he cares for you.
1 Peter 5:5-7

A family rosary, meditating on each mystery, is also a beautiful way to pray. Whatever your prayer, be sure to include all those who are fighting the virus, serving in the front lines of healthcare, researching for a cure, and taking care of loved ones.

Lord, have mercy on us all. May we draw closer to you and thus bringing our family closer too. May we use this unexpected togetherness wisely, strengthening our family bond, reorienting  them to God’s moral law, and grounding them more firmly in the Truth. In your great mercy, put an end to this pestilence throughout the world and bring comfort to those who mourn. Graciously hear and answer our prayers! Amen.

Peace, Joy, and Love,
Janet
