Pray for Families (Pentecost Awakening)

Greetings Prayer Warriors,

One can hardly turn on the news without hearing about violent murders, physical assaults, lack of respect for human life, and evidence of a culture that has lost its moral compass.  Change will not result from constant new legislation and the enactment of more laws.  It will come from the conversion of hearts, an awareness of the laws written upon each of our hearts, and a hunger for virtue.

I will place my law within them, and write it upon their hearts; I will be their God, and they shall be my people.  Jeremiah 31:33

With the purging of prayer in schools, the elimination of any celebration of Christian holidays in the workplace, and the secularization of society, many people never have heard the Good News.  Chances are, they’ve never been taught the 10 Commandments either.  But both children and adults learn from what they see, so let us pray for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit that we will have the courage to boldly witness in action, word, or deed the Gospel messages.

Send forth your Spirit, ….renew the face of the earth! . Psalm 104:30

Your prayer for all families is needed more than ever.  Keep praying!

Peace, Joy, and Love,
Janet

Pray for Marriages (Trust in His plan)

Greetings Prayer Warriors,

I'm sitting in a cafe in rainy Southern California today, contemplating the irony of my getting away from the rainy Pacific Northwest in search of sun, only to end up leaving the sun and landing in rain. I guess one just has to trust in the Lord's plan.

Light is sweet! And it is pleasant for the eyes to see the sun.
Ecclesiastes 11:7

Like the weather, marriage isn't always what you are expecting. Stretches of sunshine can be followed by clouds, storms, and gloom. But if one perseveres in prayer, with all humility, the light of the Son will break through bringing the hope of a new dawn. Like the beauty of a dove soaring to new heights, the Spirit will lift you up, if only you surrender your will.

So humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time. Cast all your worries upon him because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:6-7

Trust in the LORD forever! For the LORD is an eternal Rock. Isaiah 26:4

I guess one just has to trust in the Lord's plan. He knew it was better to send rain to quench the fires of Southern California than to fulfill my personal desire for a couple days of sun. He also knows that you can weather the storms of marriage if you trust in His plan.

Pray that you will be given the grace to trust in the plan the Lord has for your marriage.

Peace, Joy, and Love,
Janet

Keep praying. Pass it on.

Pray for Families (L.O.V.E.)

Greetings Prayer Warriors,

In the gospels, Jesus makes it clear that we are called to love one another. There is no doubt he is referring to an action not a feeling.   It sounds so simple, but sometimes it's hard to execute.   How does one  start or even keep it top of mind?

L-Live your life in  imitation of Christ.
O-Open yourself to give as well as receive.
V-Visit the sick, homebound, lonely, and don't forget family too!
E-Externally focus on the needs of others: spiritually, emotional, physical.

Prayer is also a sign of love.  Love more; keep praying!

Peace, Joy, and Love,
Janet

Pass it on!  Love, that is!

Pray for Marriages (Love Renewed)

Marriage, the Simple Truth

We fell in love.  We got engaged.
Invitations we did send!
We just assumed we’d always feel
The way that we felt then.

A wedding, honeymoon, and house
Were high upon our list,
We checked each box and filled that house,
And thought our life was bliss.

But soon we had some hills to climb,
Slipped into valleys too,
Resentment came and love was crushed,
Each spouse said, “Must be you!!”

We pondered different exit plans
Consulting with the best.
What happened to this life we planned,
Our comfy little nest?

Just when I thought all hope was lost
I fell upon my knees,
And pleaded with the God I knew,
Then grace was poured on me.

His flame of love transformed our hearts,
Our commitment we renewed
“Conform our will to yours dear Lord,
For we do trust in You!

An unknown peace now entered in,
A joy now filled our hearts,
Each hill we climbed, each challenge faced,
No longer pushed apart.

His light illumines us each day,
We often make amends,
For stubborn as we often are,
We know we each must bend.

We learned a wedding’s just one day
But marriage is for life,
So take the helm our dear, sweet Lord,
In you there is no strife!

Pray for Families (Help a Lost Soul)

Greetings Prayer Warriors,

Let us humbly pray for our families.

Lord, when we lose our way and find nothing but dead ends, shepherd us back to You.

Lord, when we are seduced by the Prince of Lies, plant the Truth back in our hearts, and illuminate our darkness.

Lord, when we turn our backs to You, help us see that without Life, we are walking toward death.

“I am the way and the truth and the life.”  John 14:6

Lord, bring us back to Life!!

Peace, Joy, and Love,
Janet

Help a lost soul find their way back to Him.  Keep praying.  Pass it on.

Pray for Marriages (The Ripple Effect)

Greetings Prayer Warriors,

Do you ever wonder if your prayers have any effect, especially when you see so many marriages crumbling?  It is easy to become discouraged, but the question is how many more marriages would end in divorce you weren't praying?  Consider your prayers as pebbles tossed in the water; the splash is small but the ripples go out farther than ever imagined. Who might be depending on your prayers today? Can you raise your voice in prayer one more time? Can you ask one more person to pray as well? Can you tell someone who is struggling in their marriage that you are praying for them and provide them a ripple of hope?

But God did hear and listened to my voice in prayer. Blessed be God, who did not reject my prayer and refuse his mercy. Psalm 66:19-20

Jesus, I trust in You!

Peace, Joy, and Love,
Janet
