Greetings Prayer Warriors,
Love is a decision.
It is not a feeling, but a kind, loving, compassionate, positive action
toward someone. How often our actions
betray our words!
Little children, let us not love in word or speech but in
deed and in truth. By this we shall know that we are of the truth, and reassure
our hearts before him whenever our hearts condemn us; for God is greater than
our hearts, and he knows everything. Beloved,
if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God; and we receive
from him whatever we ask, because we keep his commandments and do what pleases
him. And this is his commandment, that
we should believe in the name of his Son Jesus Christ and love one another,
just as he has commanded us. 1 John 3:18-23
Lord, as we lift up all marriages in prayer, we ask for the grace to live out true love, that is, love grounded in you. Help guide our actions, that they may be
loving even when our feelings aren’t those of love. May our kind actions transform any negative
feelings or thoughts that we cling to. Help us empty ourselves of pride and
selfishness, so that conformed to you, you may love our spouses through
us. We ask this in the most precious
name of Jesus. Amen.
