Greetings Prayer
Warriors!
Do you prefer
roller-coasters or merry-go-rounds? Some marriages are like
roller-coasters, up, down, and unpredictable; A wild ride where the emotions
spike and plummet. Others are like merry-go-rounds. Same old, same
old; Very predictable, but not very exciting.
Usually spouses are
two different rides at the same amusement park. One is saying “Let’s party!”
The other is saying, “Doesn’t a quiet evening at home sound grand?!” Perhaps this is the Lord’s attempt to build
virtue within a marriage. This dynamic
requires give and take, patience, selflessness, and mutual respect. These are earned and learned along the
amusement path. In the end the
merry-go-round will remain predictable and the roller-coaster will still live
for the thrill, but in time, the result will be a new-found mutual respect and an
increase in virtue.
Pray that spouses
seek a deeper understanding of the other.
Being understood can break down many walls.
Above all, let your love for one
another be intense, because love covers a multitude of sins.
1 Peter 4:8
Lord, we pray that you lead spouses to a
common ground, where they can initiate a meaningful conversation which will
culminate in a deeper understanding and respect of the other. With you as their guide, may their marriage
be filled with the joys of the unexpected, the comfort of your steadfastness,
and the love of being complementary.
Peace, Joy, and
Love,
Janet
Pray for those on a
wild ride! Pass it on!
