Greetings Prayer Warriors,
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Domestic violence is any kind of behavior
that a person uses to control an intimate partner/spouse through fear and
intimidation. Abuse can be of a
physical, sexual, psychological, verbal, or economic nature. According to a 2010 survey conducted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, one in four women,
and one in seven men, have been the victims of severe physical violence by an
“intimate partner” (boyfriend/girlfriend or spouse) at some point in their
life.
DOMESTIC ABUSE IS
NEVER JUSTIFIED.
While we pray for the protection and healing of all
marriages, one should never stay in a dangerous situation, nor should they
allow their children to stay with an abusive spouse.
Today and throughout the month, please take some time to
pray for an end to domestic violence.
Lord, you are the
Divine Healer. For the victims of abuse, give them the courage to leave their
situations and in your compassion, bestow upon them a salve of grace to heal
them physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
Close their wounds, erase their scars, and bring healing to each
individual and as necessary, the entire family tree. May cycles of violence be broken, so that
future generations don’t repeat the sins of the father/mother.
And only if it be your
most holy will Lord, reunite the individuals mended by your merciful love. We ask this in your most precious name. Amen.
In their distress they cried to the LORD, who saved them in
their peril; He brought them forth from darkness and the shadow of death and
broke their chains asunder.
“Behold, I make all things new.” Revelation 21:5
