Greetings Prayer Warriors,
As Advent winds down and Christmas draws near, schools and many
employers close for a holiday break and people begin their travels home to
family. The anticipation of family homecomings
is delightful, but often as Christmas arrives ideas may vary among family
members on how the day should be spent and who it should be spent with. Spiritual differences may become more
evident. Rather than use it as a base of
contention within your family, instead focus on being a shining light, mirroring
Christ’s love, mercy, and generosity.
Transformation rarely occurs because one was convinced by an argument
but rather hearts change when they are disarmed by unanticipated love, mercy,
and generosity.
You are the light of
the world. A city set on a mountain cannot be hidden. Nor do
they light a lamp and then put it under a bushel basket; it is set on a
lampstand, where it gives light to all in the house. Just so,
your light must shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and
glorify your heavenly Father. Matthew 5:14-16
Lord, send your Spirit upon us that we may boldly bear
witness to You through our words, actions, and deeds. Help us love when we don’t feel like it, be
merciful when we desire to be harsh, and generous when we want to be stingy
with our kindness and resources. We open
are hearts to you Lord, that you may transform us first!
May Christ’s light shine through each of you!
Peace, Joy, and Love,
Janet
Pray for your own transformation, and that each family
member may experience the love of God in a new way. Then pass it on!
