Pray for Marriages (Planned Perfection)

Greetings Prayer Warriors,

Do not let the sun set on your anger. Ephesians 4:26

And certainly don’t carry it over into the New Year!

As we close out 2018 and usher in 2019, put old grievances to rest.  What you can’t resolve, hand over to God, which he will gladly accept knowing you had to release your grip to make such an offering.

I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.  Revelation 22:13

In 2019, make a resolution to start and end the day in prayer, which will keep God in your heart and on your mind.  Your docility will allow Him to become the perfect bookends to the story of your life, complicated in the living, but beautiful and amazing in its reading, as it will reveal the planned perfection of you.

Happy New Year!

Peace, Joy, and Love,
Janet

Who needs prayer in 2019? Everyone! Pass it on!

Pray for Families (Pray and Play)

Greetings Prayer Warriors,

As the year draws to a close, what better time to reexamine oneself and focus on radiating Christ to others, especially family.

As face mirrors face in water, so the heart reflects the person.
 Proverbs 27:19

Strive for quality time with each interaction, especially when it is a person you have difficulty with. May they sense the peace of Christ in you.

May I profit from you in the Lord. Refresh my heart in Christ. Philemon 1:20

This in itself is a prayer of love and is a way to pray without ceasing*.

You may even experience unanticipated joy!

Praying that you will be renewed each day in the Spirit!

Peace to your hearts,
Joy to your soul, & may
Love remain in your lives,
Janet

Peace, Joy, and Love, is always meant to be shared. Pass it on!

Pray for Marriages (A Thrill of Hope)

Greetings Prayer Warriors,

Merry Christmas! May the words to this Christmas Carol penetrate your heart.

O holy night! The stars are brightly shining,
It is the night of our dear Saviour's birth.
Long lay the world in sin and error pining,
Till He appear'd and the soul felt its worth.
A thrill of hope, the weary world rejoices,
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn.

Fall on your knees! O hear the angel voices!
O night divine, O night when Christ was born;
O night divine, O night, O night Divine.  -Placide Cappeau

For when peaceful stillness encompassed everything and the night in its swift course was half spent, Your all-powerful word from heaven’s royal throne leapt into the doomed land. Wisdom 18:14-15

LORD; give me life in accord with your Word! Psalm 119:107

May your souls feel their worth and be brought to new life!

Peace, Joy, and Love, descending from above!
Janet

May joy fill your homes and your hearts! Rejoice with one another.!  Pass it on!

Pray for Families (Twinkling Bright)

Greetings Prayer Warriors,

There is great irony in the fact that copious time is taken to prepare for Christmas, yet rarely does that preparation have anything to do with readying one’s heart and soul for our Savior.

There is still time.  Reevaluate your focus. Surrender your busyness to God and ask Him to open your heart. A receptive heart is able to receive many gifts, but an open heart is also able to pour out gifts for others.

Love the family in front of you. Your unknown weekly gift of prayer will never go to waste, be out of style, nor be too small. Instead it will always be efficacious, timeless, and the perfect fit. You really are a secret Santa. Does your family ever really have to know that you have enrolled them in the prayer of the week club? ;)  (Don’t worry, they will sense it.)

Keep up the prayers.  They brighten the darkness and just may be the light that leads your family closer to Jesus.

May the eyes of [your] hearts be enlightened, that you may know what is the hope that belongs to his call, what are the riches of glory in his inheritance among the holy ones.  Ephesians 1:18

Keeping it merry, with gifts of Peace, Love, and Joy!
Janet

May your prayers twinkle brighter this Christmas! Pass it on!

Pray for Marriages (Encountering the Beloved)

Greetings Prayer Warriors,

Sometimes, when one longs for their spousal relationship to improve, they must first encounter their true Beloved and allow for a relationship to begin/continue.

Peace!  Be still and let your heart rest in Him, and you will know true peace.

Live in peace.  2 Cor. 13:11

Joy! Invite Him into your heart, and joy will abound.

They will meet with joy and gladness!  Isaiah 51:11

Love! Surrender your will to Him, and love will envelop you, showing you true intimacy.

God is love.  1 John 4:16

Pray, a prayer of thanksgiving. Then carry the Beloved into your relationship with your beloved.  Then pray for all marriages, that each will grow in the intimacy and love of Jesus Christ.

Peace, Joy, and Love,
Janet

Love is a spark that when shared, creates Light for all. Pass it on!

Pray for Families (A Gift that Overflows)

Greetings Prayer Warriors,

Can you feel the tension in the air as you realize that Christmas is just around the corner? If you are in charge of the shopping, wrapping, boxing, shipping, baking, card writing, addressing, stamping, mailing, decorating, trimming, light hanging, etc., and that’s after a full day’s work, well you just may not be all that jolly.  Exhale. Inhale. Breathe out slowly, and realize that the sun will still rise and set if you don’t do all of it. Stop and focus on the twinkling lights all around and let it take you to that Christmas night in Bethlehem where the stars must have been twinkling with giddy excitement. When you see an evergreen pointing toward the heavens, contemplate the enormity of God’s love for us, to send his only son.  When you hear holiday music, imagine the seraphim and cherubim leading a choir of angels in holy song.  Bring yourself back to the reason for the season, so that the peace and joy of Jesus Christ may fill your heart, chasing needless anxiety and worry away. That in itself will be a gift that overflows into your family, a prayer in action for those you love.

May the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you. 2 Thessalonians 3:16

Peace, Joy, and Love,
Janet

Share his peace and pass it on!

Pray for Marriages (Needing a Savior)

Greetings Prayer Warriors,

As we continue Advent prayer and prepare our hearts to receive Him, let us pray with faith:

Lord, help us to realize how much we need a Savior.

For we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, deluded, slaves to various desires and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful ourselves and hating one another.  Titus 3:3

Enlighten our minds that we may see the weightiness of our sins.
May we fall to our knees in realization, and be comforted by your infinite mercy.
Open our eyes to injustice all around us,
Thus moving us to action and compassion for those in need.
Expand the capacity of our hearts to love,
Helping us to show kindness and patience to the most unlovable.
Increase our faith, by generously pouring your grace upon us,
Strengthening our hope that you will make all crooked lines straight.
Fill us with peace,
So that we may be aware of your presence.
Through your Divine Light, may marriages be purified, fortified, and renewed,
That all may know the tender love of a Savior.
We need you, our Lord, God and Savior!
 Amen.

When the kindness and generous love of God our savior appeared, not because of any righteous deeds we had done but because of his mercy he saved us through the bath of rebirth and renewal by the holy Spirit, whom he richly poured out on us through Jesus Christ our savior, so that we might be justified by his grace and become heirs in hope of eternal life. Titus 3:4-7

Peace, Joy, and Love,
Janet

May all know we have a Savior! Pass it on!

Pray for Families (Making Room)

Greetings Prayer Warriors,

Every Nativity Story details Mary and Joseph’s journey to Bethlehem and their inability to find any available lodging. I can’t imagine the range of emotions that emanated from hearing repeatedly, “There is no room here”. The Savior of the World is about to be born; the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords, Emmanuel, “God with us”. If only the Innkeepers knew, they would have given priority to such a guest, right? Would we?

For the Lord stands at the door of our heart daily, knocking and hoping we will welcome him in. If we are truthful with ourselves, how often do we fail to answer or answer with, “I’m busy right now. Come back later. I have no room for you”. We fail to admit that we have allowed other “guests” (i.e. priorities) to take up the space in our heart.

Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, [then] I will enter his house and dine with him, and he with me. Revelation 3:20

Advent is a perfect time to ready our hearts to receive him. We must do some internal housekeeping as we reevaluate our priorities and what “guests” we have allowed to stay too long. We must pray for wisdom and clarity for not only ourselves, but for our family. Clearing away clutter takes time. That’s why Advent is four weeks long. And remember, the best companion to “cleaning” is prayer.

Praying for all of you, that by Christmas, your family gatherings are filled with open hearts ready to receive the Ultimate Gift.

Peace, Joy, and Love,
Janet

Keep your hearts open by always tossing out  that which fills it with emptiness. Pass it on!
