Greetings Prayer Warriors,
Can you feel the
tension in the air as you realize that Christmas is just around the corner? If
you are in charge of the shopping, wrapping, boxing, shipping, baking, card
writing, addressing, stamping, mailing, decorating, trimming, light hanging, etc.,
and that’s after a full day’s work, well you just may not be all that jolly. Exhale. Inhale. Breathe out slowly, and
realize that the sun will still rise and set if you don’t do all of it. Stop
and focus on the twinkling lights all around and let it take you to that Christmas
night in Bethlehem where the stars must have been twinkling with giddy
excitement. When you see an evergreen pointing toward the heavens, contemplate
the enormity of God’s love for us, to send his only son. When you hear holiday music, imagine the seraphim
and cherubim leading a choir of angels in holy song. Bring yourself back to the reason for the
season, so that the peace and joy of Jesus Christ may fill your heart, chasing needless
anxiety and worry away. That in itself will be a gift that overflows into your
family, a prayer in action for those you love.
May the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you. 2 Thessalonians 3:16
Peace, Joy, and
Love,
Janet
