Pray for Marriages (Reboot and Resend!)

 Greetings Prayer Warriors,

Peace be with you and yours! Did you know there is a week promoting marriage?  It starts this Wednesday, February 7 and concludes on Valentines Day, February 14. National Marriage Week USA “is a collaborative campaign to strengthen individual marriages, reduce the divorce rate, and build a culture that fosters strong marriages.” On it’s website you will find tips, seminars, DVDS, and various other resources to strengthen your marriage.

Feel like your marriage is sleepwalking?

“Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will give you light.”  Ephesians 14:5

Do something good for your marriage each day. Begin with prayer, because every day that begins with prayer is a good one. Pray that the Lord teach you and your spouse how to have a holy and Godly marriage. It begins with Him. Ask the Lord to illuminate your mind as you meditate on the following scripture:

Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ loved the church and handed himself over for her to sanctify her, cleansing her by the bath of water with the word, that he might present to himself the church in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish. So [also] husbands should love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. For no one hates his own flesh but rather nourishes and cherishes it, even as Christ does the church, because we are members of his body. “For this reason a man shall leave [his] father and [his] mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.” Ephesians 5:25-31

Lord, without you we stumble, fall, and become discouraged. Reboot and re-energize our desire to have a strong and holy marriage. Bless all those who read this and meet them exactly where they are. Extricate them from selfish desires and show them the power of Love. Encourage, guide, and unify them. Make them one, holy and pleasing in your sight.

If there is any encouragement in Christ, any solace in love, any participation in the Spirit, any compassion and mercy, complete my joy by being of the same mind, with the same love, united in heart, thinking one thing. Do nothing out of selfishness or out of vainglory; rather, humbly regard others as more important than yourselves, each looking out not for his own interests, but [also] everyone for those of others. Philippians 21-4

Peace, Joy, and Love,
Janet

We can change the culture of marriage one yes at a time. Say “yes!” to Him and “I will!” to your spouse!  Then keep praying and pass it on...not just once but all week long!!
