Greetings Prayer Warriors,
As stay at home orders remain in place, tensions are starting to rise. Many have been furloughed, laid off, or permanently released from employment. While many struggle with constant togetherness, their true burden is worrying about food, rent, and other necessities. The inability to cope with a negative situation with no end in sight, has led to a rise in anxiety, depression, suicide, and domestic abuse.
On this feast of Saint Joseph, the Worker, let us pray for his powerful intercession before the Lord on behalf of all those who work. As the head of the Holy Family, let us also ask that he seek heavenly protection for those who are facing abuse.
In you, LORD, I take refuge; let me never be put to shame. In your righteousness deliver me; incline your ear to me; make haste to rescue me! Be my rock of refuge, a stronghold to save me. Psalm 31:2-3
For you have been a refuge to the poor, a refuge to the needy in their distress. Isaiah 25:4
St. Joseph, you labored to support the Child Jesus and the Blessed Mother, your spouse. Pray that our faith in God mirrors yours, as you too must have struggled to find work as your living situation shifted. At times, you most likely had to trust in the kindness and charity of strangers. Pray that we grow in charity, helping those who are experiencing difficulties. O humble St. Joseph, pray that we have the humility to accept charity from others rather than refuse in our pride. Protector of children, pray that our eyes will be open to see when others may need support with their little ones, allowing them to decompress from their stress. Ask the Lord to be extra generous with his grace, that we each may grow in virtue during this trial. Saint Joseph, guardian of the family, protect the most vulnerable! Amen.
