Pray for Families (Loving More)

Greetings Prayer Warriors,

How is your Lent going? Did you decide to make some type of sacrifice?  For those slow adopters, there is still time!  Perhaps you are indecisive as to what to do?  Consider…

“Which is the first of all the commandments?” Jesus replied, “The first is this: ‘Hear, O Israel! The Lord our God is Lord alone! You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” And ‘to love him with all your heart, with all your understanding, with all your strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself’ is worth more than all burnt offerings and sacrifices.” Mark 12:28-31, 33

The last phrase begs for attention. It implies that the best Lenten “sacrifice” is to love more.  Not just those who love you, but those whom you find unlovable. Yes, those persons.  In doing so, you will be loving God in the deepest way. You might prefer to give up chocolate, but who will that benefit?

Let us continue to pray for one another, that our Lenten penances and sacrifices will be most pleasing to the Lord.

Lord, give us the grace to stay the course! (Repeat x 2) Amen!

Peace, Joy, and Love,

Janet

Love someone and pass it on!
