Pray for Families (Tending His Children)

Greetings Prayer Angels,

In just the past 12 hours I have randomly had two separate conversations with two different peers regarding their career choices.  Each is looking to advance in their careers, taking on positions that would require traveling more.  Each has young children and working spouses, which would mean that their time with their children would not only be greatly reduced, but the responsibilities would be passed on to a non-parent.  It made me reflect on the fact that while children are born to us, they are not ours, but the Heavenly Father’s.  We are “gifted” with children and become the stewards of God’s most beautiful creations.  Are we as a society taking this seriously?  At the end of time when the Lord assesses our stewardship, will He say, “well done good and faithful servant!”  or, “Why did you spend so little time tending to My children?”

I certainly understand that most people have to work and many jobs do require travel, but when there is a choice, are we choosing our wants over the children’s needs?  Are our decisions based on gaining more material goods and comforts?

Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and decay destroy, and thieves break in and steal. But store up treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor decay destroys, nor thieves break in and steal.  For where your treasure is, there also will your heart be.  Matthew 6:19-21

Lord, help all of us to make good choices for the well being of our families.  May we not spend all of our time working for creature comforts and personal accolades, but rather working to provide for our family’s physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.  As you have blessed us abundantly, help us to be generous. May we not look at our children or grandchildren as ours but Yours, and in doing so may we give them the best of ourselves.  Help us to love them as much as you love them, so that they may experience the joy of a parent’s unconditional love.

Peace, Joy, and Love,
Janet
