Greetings Prayer Warriors,
The one advantage of age is the amazing wisdom one
gains. I guess something good has to
offset wrinkles, love-handles, and age-spots. ;) This
is why it is important to have friends across the generations--to share the
wisdom!
The Christian learns that there is always a cross to carry
and if they stop wallowing in self-pity and look outside themselves, everyone
else has one too!
I’ve learned that a cross is only heavy if you try to carry
it alone. The Lord wants to carry it
with us, and often sends us helpers, but we have to humble ourselves and accept
the love offered in its various forms.
We are afflicted in every way, but not constrained;
perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not
abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed; always carrying about in the
body the dying of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in
our body. For we who live are constantly being given up to death for the
sake of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may be manifested in our mortal flesh. 2 Corinthians 4:8-11
Crosses are bridges
from old to new, from despair to hope, from anger to joy, from death to life.
Today let us pray for all couples feeling the weight of the cross in their
marriage. Lord, lighten their burden
with heavenly assistance, increase their faith so that they trust in your will,
and fill them with everlasting hope for we know that in all things God works
for the good of those who love him.
Peace, Joy, and Love,
Janet
Lighten someone’s burden.
Share a cross. Pass it on.
