Greetings Prayer Warriors,
Marriages have their seasons, but sometimes out of the calm, storms suddenly rage. They can catch us off guard and unprepared, and we rarely handle them well. We panic, we shout, we flail, while deep inside fear builds.
It reminds me of when the disciples were in a boat on the sea with Jesus napping comfortably, when all of a sudden a squall hit them and started tossing the boat. They feared the worst and awoke Jesus, feeling he had neglected to protect them..
He woke up, rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Quiet! Be still!” The wind ceased and there was great calm. Then he asked them, “Why are you terrified? Do you not yet have faith?” Mark 4:39-40
Could Jesus have also been talking to the panicked disciples, when he said, “Quiet! Be still!”? Does he whisper that to us when the storms in our life and in our marriage threaten to capsize us? Do you hear him say, “Have faith. Trust in me, the one who loves you unconditionally.”
That’s a lot to contemplate. Jesus never neglects you. Take some time and ask the Lord where you might be weak in faith. Then pray! Pray for your marriage, those of your friends and family, and those of the prayer warriors.
Lord, may our faith banish fear, may our love grow exponentially, and may we rebuke the storms in life with a prayer for your protection!
Peace, Joy, and Love,
Janet
