Pray for Marriages (Seek Him Whom Your Soul Loves)

Greetings Prayer Warriors,

Love.  We crave it. We want it. From relationship to relationship, from one marriage to another, we seek it unceasingly.  We must quench the yearnings of our hearts.

But our hearts were made for God.  Only He can satisfy our cravings and fill the emptiness of our heart. Ironically, as our culture is becoming more and more secular, the Giver of Love is put on the sidelines.  We see as never before a decline in marriages and an increase in the divorce rate, as many move forward seeking love in a multitude of relationships that ultimately fail.

On my bed at night I sought him whom my soul loves—I sought him but I did not find him. “Let me rise then and go about the city, through the streets and squares; Let me seek him whom my soul loves.” I sought him but I did not find him. The watchmen found me, as they made their rounds in the city: “Him whom my soul loves—have you seen him?”  Song of Songs 3:1-3

Seek in prayer the one your soul loves first, and your relationships will soar! Pray that all may find Him!

Peace, Joy, and Love,
Janet

Help someone soar!  Pass it on!

Pray for Families (Safe Passage)

Greetings Prayer Angels,

August is in full swing and it is a time of travel and transition in both small and large ways.  Lives are in flux as many become wanders seeking adventure, change, stability, or even healing. Families are vacationing, collegians are returning to college, while others are taking physical and spiritual journeys, such as friends of mine walking the Camino de Santiago.  Conversely, others travel to survive, as they seek safety as is the case with the Christians being persecuted in Iraq.

Joseph rose and took the child and his mother by night and departed for Egypt. Matthew 2:14

Today let us pray for these pilgrims that they may be blessed with safe passage no matter where their travels take them.  May the hand of God protect them, guide their footsteps, and be their GPS (God Protection System) to prevent them from becoming physically, spiritually, or emotionally lost.

Lord, You protected and guided the Holy Family as they took flight and journeyed a long distance throughout the night.  Like them, may we have a pure, childlike faith, knowing that You will also protect us along the way, sending angels as our guides.  When we travel in darkness, may You illuminate our path, helping us know which road to take. May we always keep our eyes fixed on You, so that our love for You may not be diverted.  May our hope be unwavering, as You first lead us to our earthly home, and then to everlasting life in You.  With Your outpouring of grace may we increase in faith, hope, and love.  Jesus we trust in You! Amen.

Peace, Joy, and Love,
Janet

May our prayers go viral and celestial!  Pass it on!

Pray for Marriages (Food for the Soul)

Greetings Prayer Warriors,

Women, it is said that the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach.  Easy enough.  It can’t end there though, because the way to a man’s soul is through his heart.  He must be spiritually fed as well, so that his soul becomes sensitive to the fire of God’s love. Only then can his love become a blaze of glory!

Men, the way to a women’s heart is through her ears.  Nourish them with words of love, honor, and truth, followed by actions that mirror the same, and her heart will be yours.  But she too must be spiritually fed, or there will be an emptiness she feels that you never can fill.

“It is written: ‘One does not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes forth from the mouth of God.’”  Matthew 4:4

What is your marriage hungering for?   The Lord is always knocking on the door of your heart, seeking to be the center of your marriage.  He wants you to keep Him there too, so he can nourish it, heal it, transform it, and make you and your spouse a beacon of light for others.

I am the bread of life. John 6:48

Perhaps your spouse doesn’t yet see the effects of his/her spiritual malnourishment.  Not to worry, you have prayer warriors petitioning on your behalf.

Holy Spirit come with the fire of your love!!  Bring the winds of change, so that even the most stubborn hearts are moved by your action within their soul. Create a holy curiosity for them to know you.  Fan into flame their desire to seek you.  Bless each marriage and reignite the sparks of love found early in their courtship.  Jesus, we trust in You!

Peace, Joy, and Love,
Janet

Share an appetizer of the heavenly banquet: prayer and scripture. Awesome soul food!

Pray for Families (Time for prayer)

Greetings Prayer Warriors,

As each day flies by and you reflect on your day, do you every ask yourself, “Where did the time go?!”  Perhaps sometimes you smile upon your accomplishments while other times you just see how much time you frittered away.

I came so that they might have life and have it more abundantly. John 10:10

Today I challenge you to discover the time stealer in your life. Challenge your whole family to do the same.  Is it TV watching, video games, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or __________ (fill in the blank!)?  Be honest about which of your activities quickly launch into overdrive. Replace half of the time for that activity with prayer to your Beloved Lord.  (Thought you didn’t have much time for prayer, right?) Use this time to either pray as a family or for personal conversation with God.  He is a good listener who longs for your visits.   These visits will lead you to a new peace in your life and in your family. See your life change for the better when your love is focused on the Beloved!

He rescued us from such great danger of death, and he will continue to rescue us; in him we have put our hope [that] he will also rescue us again, as you help us with prayer, so that thanks may be given by many on our behalf for the gift granted us through the prayers of many.
2 Corinthians 1:11

Prayer is always the answer.   Pass it on!

Peace, Joy, and Love,
Janet

I repeat, prayer is always the answer. Pass it on!

Pray for Marriages (Healing from Divorce)

Greetings Prayer Warriors,

My heart is joyful knowing all of you treasure the Sacrament of Marriage.  But I know many of you have been hurt by divorce.   I praise God that you continue to pray for marriages and consider yourselves warriors!  For you know God’s perfect design, but it takes two willing spouses to hold it together.

Today we pray for your continued healing.  May the Lord bring you close and continue to bless you.  May His grace be abundant, especially if you are parenting alone.  May you draw closer to Him in both your sorrows and your joys, for He will always be your True Love.

For your husband is your Maker; the LORD of hosts is his name, Your redeemer, the Holy One of Israel, called God of all the earth. The LORD calls you back, like a wife forsaken and grieved in spirit, A wife married in youth and then cast off, says your God. For a brief moment I abandoned you, but with great tenderness I will take you back.
Isaiah 54:5-7

Lord, our Divine Physician, we call upon you to shower healing grace upon those hurt by divorce.  Hold their heart tenderly, and heal its wounds.  Erase any memories that taunt them.   Help them release any lingering anger, resentment, or unforgiveness that keeps them distant from you.  Renew their trust in others, especially You.  In the name of Jesus, we humbly pray.  Amen.

“Behold, I make all things new.”  Revelation 21:5

Peace, Love, and Joy,
Janet
