Pray for Marriages (Springtime of Love)

Greetings Prayer Warriors,

Since God is outside of time, I suppose our prayers can benefit both those who have come before us and those who will come after us, for the blessings we receive today are most likely the fruit of someone’s prayers.

My heart is telling me to pray for future marriages. Each decision one makes today will affect their future. Lord, we pray that single men and woman be strong in faith, hold firm to chastity, seek out your mercy, and persevere in hope until that time in which they find their life’s love. Lord, pour out your graces so that the vocation of marriage will have a new springtime. May great and fruitful marriages abound! May the world see your perfect plan for marriage and family as new marriages emit your radiant Light.

And this is my prayer: that your love may increase ever more and more in knowledge and every kind of perception, to discern what is of value, so that you may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ for the glory and praise of God. 1 Philippians 9-11

Peace, Joy, and Love,
Janet

Be steadfast in your prayers for one another! Pass it on!

Prayer for Families (Reconnection and Rejuvenation)

Greetings Prayer Warriors,

During this prime vacation season, take advantage of this time to decompress, rejuvenate, and reconnect with your family.  Time spent with family is a prayer of praise! Time spend with the Lord refreshes the soul!

Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart; and you will find rest for yourselves. For my yoke is easy, and my burden light. Matthew 11:28-30

Peace, Joy, and Love,
Janet

Vacations are most restful when we invite the Lord! Pass it on!

Pray for Marriages (Fruit begets Fruitfulness)

Greetings Prayer Warriors,

Marriage takes work. But you toil in vain unless you ask the Lord to increase the fruits of the Spirit within you.

The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Galatians 5:22-23

Holy Spirit, reinstruct us how to use those gifts that have lain dormant from lack of use. Help them spring forth in us, that our marriages will bloom in new ways.

Neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who causes the growth. 1 Corinthians 3:7

Lord we trust in your loving kindness.  Take the marriages that appear the most barren in fruit, and make them new trees of life, so all will know you are God!

Peace, Joy, and Love,
Janet

Pray for marriages, that all will have their time in the sun!  Pass it on!

Pray for Marriages (Life Lessons)

Greetings Prayer Warriors,

In life, I have learned a thing or two. I can barely (or rarely) sing on key. That doesn’t dampen my desire to sing though, for why not praise God with the voice He gave me? If God wants to hear glorious sound, He can gift me with vocal prowess! I am a pretty good friend, but probably not great. I want to love well, but anger and resentment often run interference. I can be generous when I want to, but do I give (of self, of things, of money) until it hurts? I could go on and on, but since this isn’t a confessional, I’ll just say that without Christ, I would fail at everything!

For you are my fortress, my refuge in time of trouble. My strength, your praise I will sing; you, God, are my fortress, my loving God.
Psalms 59:17-18

In every aspect of my life, I invite Him in, especially in my marriage. I ask you to do the same. Would you commit/recommit to that now? For Christ can right the wrongs, push one to apologize, deflate your pride, soften your responses, and elevate your praises. He can silence your intended verbal jabs, snuff out your anger, and help you to see how He views your spouse…which is with the most tender and compassionate love.

Lord, refresh any marital love that has been tainted, snuffed, or distorted. Restore it to that of a newlywed, love filled with trust, hope, and joy.  In you all is possible, so we pray for those who feel too defeated to ask on their own behalf. Hear our prayers!

Let my prayer be incense before you; my uplifted hands, an evening offering. Set a guard, LORD, before my mouth, keep watch over the door of my lips. Do not let my heart incline to evil. Psalms 141:2-4

Trust in the promises of Christ, and pray, pray, pray!

“Behold, I make all things new.” Then he said, “Write these words down, for they are trustworthy and true.” Revelation 21:5

Peace, Joy, and Love,
Janet

Prayer is simple, powerful, and perfect. Pass it on!

Pray for Families (2 Truths and a Lie)

Greetings Prayer Warriors,

There is a party game that is popular called “2 Truths and a Lie”. The object is to see if the guests can determine which two facts are the truth and which one is the lie.  In fact, one only has to change the truth just a little bit to make it a lie. It’s not that hard to fool people. Satan knows this very well, and thus takes the truth, and changes it ever so slightly, just a little at a time until eventually the lie is not perceptible.

Let’s take a look at popular thought over time. Can you tell when it moves from truth to lie?
  • Marriage is a covenant between one man and one woman
  • Children are a gift from God and a sign of blessing
  • Large families are truly a blessing
  • Marriages should be “open” to life
  • Children are a gift only if you are ready to have them
  • Couples should take control of when and if they decide receive those gifts/blessings
  • Unwanted children aren’t a blessing, so it’s best if one uses “protection”
  • If children aren’t wanted, it’s better they not be born, but terminated
  • Abortion should be allowed up until birth, because it’s the woman’s body, the woman’s choice
  • What’s wrong with that couple with all those kids?  Don’t they know how to prevent that?!
There were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will introduce destructive heresies and even deny the Master who ransomed them, bringing swift destruction on themselves. Many will follow their licentious ways, and because of them the way of truth will be reviled. In their greed they will exploit you with fabrications, but from of old their condemnation has not been idle and their destruction does not sleep. 2 Peter 2:1-3

Many are being led astray in various ways. So we pray for both our loved ones and ourselves:

Lord, give us eyes to see and a discerning heart. Have mercy on us when we are stubborn and obstinate and don’t want to see or believe the truth. Crush our pride and replace it with humility.  Do not allow us to be led astray by the Evil One!

“If you remain in my word, you will truly be my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” John 8:31-32

My brothers, if anyone among you should stray from the truth and someone bring him back, he should know that whoever brings back a sinner from the error of his way will save his soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins. James 5:19-20

I will pray for you!
Consecrate them in the truth. Your word is truth!  John 17:17

Peace, Joy, and Love,
Janet

Speak the truth in love.  Pass it on!

Pray for Marriages (You Are Loved)

Greetings Prayer Warriors,

Even on your worst day, when you feel absolutely unlovable, do you know how much you are loved by the Lord?

Your ARE loved!!

Because you are precious in my eyes and honored, … I love you.
Isaiah 43:4

I love you, says the LORD; but you say, “How do you love us?” Malachi 1:2

Us; You and your spouse.  Perhaps “us” makes you think of brokenness, discord, impatience, imperfections…and the list could keep going.  “You love us?” you question.

Yes, the Lord reassures us, as He prays to His heavenly Father:

And I have given them the glory you gave me, so that they may be one, as we are one, I in them and you in me, that they may be brought to perfection as one, that the world may know that you sent me, and that you loved them even as you loved me. Father, they are your gift to me. John 17:22-24

Bask in His love. As it penetrates your heart, ask Him to teach you how to love and follow his command:

Love one another. As I have loved you, so you also should love one another. John 13:34

If you fail, say a prayer, go back to basking in His love, and try again.

Please pray for one another, that you and other married couples will know of His love and always be receptive to receiving it.

With age-old love I have loved you. Jeremiah 31:3

Peace, Joy, and Love,
Janet

Let someone know they are loved. Pass it on!
