Greetings Prayer
Warriors,
In the afterglow
of Mother’s Day, I am reminded of our heavenly mother on this feast of Our Lady
of Fatima, which commemorates the day of the first apparition of the Blessed
Mother to 3 children in Fatima, Portugal.
Out of her love, she wanted her messages to be disseminated to her children
throughout the world. Like our earthly mother, the Blessed Mother desires to
guide us, encourage us, and keep us out of harm’s way. She has the constant ear
of Jesus and His will is her will. She
desires to bring us closer to her Son.
In Fatima, she communicated
three key requests: penance, prayer,
and devotion to her Immaculate Heart.
Contemplate how
these requests fulfilled, may impact your marriage.
- Penance, a conversion of one’s heart away from sin and toward God.
- Prayer, especially the rosary, a meditation on the gospels.
- As an instrument “to obtain peace for the world and the end of the war for only she can obtain this.”
- Devotion to her Immaculate Heart
- As communicated to one of the children, “Tell everybody that God grants graces through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, and that they must ask them from her. Tell them that the Heart of Jesus wishes that by His side should be venerated the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Tell them to ask peace through the Immaculate Heart of Mary; God has placed it in her hands.”
Lord, you created for your Son, a perfect
Mother with a most Immaculate Heart. You
desire we too adore the heart that loved you, shared in your suffering, and
shined with humility. You placed peace in her hands. How generous you are to share with us your
own mother!
Blessed Mother, ask your Son to give us the
grace to turn away from our sin, our bitterness, and our lack of forgiveness
and mercy, especially in our marriages. Put an end the war in our hearts and
souls. Guide us to a deeper relationship with your Son. We ask for peace in our
hearts, so that we may bring forth peace into our marriages. Pray for us, Holy Mother of God, that we may
be worthy of the promises of Christ.
But now that you have been freed from sin and have become slaves of God, the benefit that you have leads to sanctification, and its end is eternal life. Romans 6:22
May the fruit of your penance, prayer and devotion be…
Peace, Joy, and Love!
